About The Author
I was born during a time when Hip Hop was born, way back when the first record was produced. I was born into the culture and in which I became deeply invested into the culture early on and it became my life. I went from breakdancing on cardboard boxes in California during the 80’s to listening to every Hip Hop cassette or CD i could get my hands on in the 90’s. I was the kid rapping and beating on lunchroom tables in the cafeteria in high school. Then, I became an artist that represented my beliefs as a christian. I performed for many stages and churches across ATL. I continued to be invested and make music until today.
I became a believer at 13 that began by sitting in the back of my grandmother's church as a kid. I remembered being frustrated trying to read and understand the bible; especially books like Revelations. My homies told me that the bible was just a book of fables. I had a lot of questions that could never be answered by any preacher or teacher or preachers' kids in college. I started my own path of seeking the answers to the deeper biblical questions.
After getting my degree in social work, philosophy, and religious studies; I went to Seminary in Atlanta GA to get my graduate degree MDiv. I dedicated myself to learning everything I could about theology and biblical studies so that I can break down translations of the bible, especially concerning Jesus in the New Testament.
I have always wanted to teach youth about the bible and the Jesus whom I dedicated my life to serving. As a social worker I have been an advocate for the youth of the street. I have spent over 20 years working with kids from all kinds of marginalized and sometimes troubled backgrounds. I have been in ministry in the church and served my people in the community. This bible is my tool that I formulated with the help of the holy spirit to help educate the youth, bible beginners, and just people who love to read their favorite verses in the bible through the lens of hip hop culture. This book is designed as not just a one time read but a tool that you can have with you for a lifetime. It is not just a nice nostalgia piece.
